Currently taking bids on how long it takes James to make his first pick. Odds are this one will time out...

Well, this draft really has started off with a hiss and a roar... I'm looking at you Darts, "Del Boy" (really?!) and Sipptard. I'm about to fall asleep waiting for something to happen.

This sucks hard. Even if our champion decides to break his six-hour strangle hold on the draft sol , James will be asleep by the time he's up and I'll have to wait until the morning...

I'm at work and have six hours to play with so get comfy dicks. Using all my time also feels like some kind of revenge for last pick... Also strangely feels kinda right giving the plebs a fair crack at the ol sav. Maybe next time round it should go in reverse table order.

Yeah, definitely merit in that idea. Does the comp give us the ability to do that Comissioner Numbnuts? I also wonder how that would work with new franchises, but all the same, worth investigating perhaps.

And just make your pick Rich. I'm also at work, and have a lame ass function booked for tonight. My second draft is literally all I have to look forward to between now and 1am...

Mu, the Karruptas are like Shirley temple in that their best work is way way in the past, and the next time they make headlines is when they're wiped from existence. And known as a little girl.

I think the only way to set that order is if we do it on the forum then the commissioner just enters the picks.

Let's face it, that's not happening...

could do the log-on order method. wouldn't be that hard. and if you fucked up and missed your time the sanction would have sorted itself out.

What is this nonsense about picking a 'dud' for the 13th selection of teams with only 2PPs??

Don't be ridiculous.

The advantage is having a third player PROTECTED ie RESERVED, not a free draft round. Those with 3 PPs get their RESERVED player, who would in normal circumstance be a Round 1 or 2 pick, whilst the remaining teams will be bidding on fringe starting players in NRL teams.

That is considerable advantage enough and hands those with 3 PPs a very healthy edge, as will be plainly evident when comparing the Round 13 picks across teams.

Only one complaint against this system comes from Dartschool aka 'The New Ben'. Stop your whinging you filthy whore.

So no, sorry I will not be picking a 'dud' in Round 13.

Hello Jasper,

Do you remember this time last year, when we had the same rule in place, and you said nothing?

That's about the time you should have shut the fuck up.

I don't remember last year actually, as I had 3 PPs, and didn't give a fuck about the rest.

Curious stance of yours Mu, not supporting my position, considering you don't have a third PP.

And by curious, I mean stupid.

Josh Mcgurue was my no 1 pick - glad I could get him back of Rich. I'm hoping for a Aaron woods-sequel year from him.

I toyed with SBW but yeah McGuire could be in for a big year I reckon and I needed a prop.

I think the rule is stupid - I said it last year - but we did do that way last year.

Only advantage as the last 3 rounds go super quick because the commissioner does them all.

In accordance with the gratuitously complex defensive strategies we're pursuing this year, Andreas was trying to draft Mr. Right, not Mr. Right-Now.

So no, sorry I will not be picking a 'dud' in Round 13.

Now don't get me wrong, we all like a bit of sledging here on the forum, but I feel a line has been crossed here. There is just no need for that kind of language: "The New Ben"? That's completely unnecessary. You should go wash your mouth out with Draino.

As for your disregard for the rules, you could always just go AWOL a couple of weeks earlier this year and save yourself the trouble of picking anyone at all.

Nitpicking about rules, dredging up random crap from bygone seasons, you have New Ben written all over you. You do need to work on your spelling and grammar though - not nearly enough errors strewn around.

Agree re draft - a raft of SHB stallwarts still out there, and plenty of nrl teams undergoing major reshuffles to make it interesting on the more speculative pickups

It's a dud for last pick if you have 2 PPs, those are the rules. You don't even pick the dud, the comp account holder does.

I'm open to changing it. In 2015. Changing rules while we're in the middle of recruiting, what are we, the NRL?

Re: The Draft 2014

so let's get this straight. Coaches with 3PP get to ring fence their 3rd PP and at the same time the coaches with 2PP cannot choose on the 13th round?

Now that's a stupid fucking rule. So you benefit on the ring fencing of a player and on 2PP coaches not choosing their own player? Sounds like something the republicans would do and y'all being dirty lefties I struggle with the concept... i would never have agreed to this and shame on you all who did last year.

I think I might go ahead and choose a PP even though it is ring fenced...Manu looks good. You have no way to stop me and it seems 'fair' to me. Saying you'll change the rules in 2015 is like saying any dictator will hold elections 'next year' we know it will never happen and doesn't solve the current unfair situation
