Round 3: It's tough at the Top

Post by Alcoholics Unanimous on Thu Mar 20, 2014 6:08 pm

So here we are Sipp.  Once again my team is underestimated pre-season, and once again your team is over hyped.

Yes, you have Thurston, but we have The Freaks.  Inglis, Hurrell and your old friend Nofoaluma.  With Sezer gone, Remmers might struggle to kick goals (prove me wrong Corey), but we are the competition's leading try scorers, and you should be worried.

Our forward packs are both big, and pretty even.  Hinchcliffe has been disappointing so far, and Fulton is yet to prove himself, but otherwise, they're top notch.  It's going to come down to who scores the most 4 pointers my friend, and my boys know where the chalk is.

In other news:

Dragons to rack up another win against the Struggling Hams.
Zooms to finally get some points on the board, thanks to their culturally conscious bros at The TOA.
Merks and Hipsters shaping as the other game of the round.  I like the Hipsters on current form, but the Merks have potential to notch a big score sooner or later.  Pity it won't be this week.
Jaffs have the advantage everywhere but 8-13.  That said, they have more than enough to keep the Krims off the scoreboard for another week.

Well well well we meet again Danny and once again you are looking up in awe at the Blancas from a lower position on the ladder.

You may have Inglis, an overweight Hurrell and a Blancas old boy, but you are coming up against the best pack in the comp! You will be 30 points in the hole before we start talking about meat pies.

You have picked a terrible week to lose your kicker, the cowboys are going to destroy the warriors at dairy farmers. Taumalolo, Cooper, Sims v Bukuya, Mannering, Mateo the score line has the potential to surpass the Humidity level.

LFB by 12. But hey you'll always have Lauaki.

In Other Games:
Hams to dish out Bens second loss for the season.
Zooms to enjoy the bye round
Hipsters to just edge out the Merkins in a thriller - Game of the round
Jaffs to continue Mu's early season pain.

You guys are charitable to call the Merks-Hips game a close match up, Dalston's finest scored more points last weekend than i have all season. Still, Merks by 10 somehow.

Dragons over the hams
Zooms to get on the board
LFBs to go outright 1st
Karruptas to pull off the upset

Bloody hell. Ben Hannant finally gets a starting berth, robbed so far this season by the greedy Corey 'Daniel Vettori' Parker, and goes and injures himself in right before the game.

LFB have a healthy, but not substantial lead in the top of the table clash. I'm sure their Coach would want a few more points in the bank, with most of his squad now played.

DCE, Choc, Norman, Mannah, Robinson, Wighton, Hinchcliffe & Scott v Matai, Hopoate, Ma'u & Bromwich.

Plenty left in this one!

By my count there is 3 cat bs to be added after the warriors game putting the scoreline at 18-0 in favour of the Blanca's.

Choc is guaranteed 6 points Bromwich should be an easy 4, them it is over the the backs. I am praying for low scoring affairs

Seems my team MVP is a fucking fill in journeyman for the sharks. Top effort Sopoaga but fml as far as the rest of the team is concerned

Also, the jaffas are looking like title contenders who are flying below everyone's radar

Dear Karruptas - Joel reddy has scored more points than your whole team total. Shame.

In fact, you could remove reddy's double, lyon's 10 point haul and a likely Kelly 2 try PP effort and I'd still beat your ass...even with Cronk, Houston, Hampton and Bellamy to come. But don't fear, you still have...Tohu.

Good weekend of footy

The Zooms have been up for the whole game but if anyone was a good chance for picking the required points for the alley sluts it's Cam Smith. Need Fonua to limit the damage with a pie or two.

yup... the refresh button is being abused where I am... Good momentum from the Storm although I thought that would be up more at the half.

Not quite down to the wire though. Without Cam also getting some tries, victory looks too far out of sight me thinks.

Gunna cost me the game too. All tied up and Smiths auto-dp should tip it over even if he doesn't kick any more goals.. Dick moves Rick.

It would still get a ban without the injury, but it wasn't that bad. If McKinnon doesn't try to tuck and roll, it wouldn't be so severe.
